Sophie’s 5 Top Tips for Surviving Exams

With the exam season upon us, we asked several students who are currently revising to give us their tips for exam season. Here Sophie gives her top 5 tips for surviving this period.

1. Yoga

Yoga helps you to relax and clear your mind.

I know, lame right? Wrong. Yoga helps you to relax and clear your mind, which comes in handy when revising. It is also proven to reduce anxiety, which is something we all have a lot of close to exam time.

2. Avoid distractions

Get rid of anything that might keep you from revision.

Put away any distractions. This includes everything: game consoles, phones, iPads, books. All of it has to go.

3. Work in a quiet environment.

The library is your new favourite place.

It’s hard to concentrate with five different conversations buzzing through your brain. Try a library, trust me it will make the world of difference.

4. Make a timetable

Make a timetable and stick to it.

Sometimes it’s frustrating trying to figure out what to revise. So make a timetable and stick to it. Eventually, your revision will become a part of your routine and won’t seem like such a chore.

5. Take a break

It’s important to make time for the things you enjoy.

And finally… take time out every once in a while. Don’t turn into a revision zombie! Go out with friends, read a book and do the things you enjoy!

I hope the above have helped you, even if it was just a little bit. I know exam time is stressful, but it will soon be over and then you have a whole range of opportunities in front of you! Think of the positives, and good luck!
