What was your laugh out loud moment (or moments) while reading?

My favourite part that made me laugh out loud was when Uncle Shawn just danced when he said he’d rescue Bill, and the funny badger was like what are you doing. I thought you were going to rescue me!?

Who was your favourite character? Why did they make you laugh?

My favourite character was Uncle Shawn as he’s really funny and most of the time he took his caravan with him. Why? Bill was also funny as the thing he described sounded funny.

Write a quote from the book that made you laugh the most!

The introduction to Section 16 that says: “In which there are some pants and some lemonade and Uncle Shawn forgets something very important. But Bill is really happy.”

Pick some of your favourite pages from the book and tell us why you like them.

One of my favourite pages is page 125, where Uncle Shawn shouts: “Look! Look! The farmhouse is falling down! Everything is falling down!” I also liked page 120, when Maude was speaking and her chin was dripping with saliva. It was gross but I liked it. And then I loved the poster on page 493 where is said Mcgloone’s LUXURY LLAMA WOOL SOCKS-SOFT WOOL SHEARED FROM LLAMA NOSES, WILLPROTECT YOUR HEELS AND TOESES by Farmer McGloon

Why do you like reading funny books?

Boring books don’t have any excitement but funny books do as most of the time funny people put bad guys off the scent. So most of the time funny people win! Like Skulduggery Pleasant and Valkyrie. They’re funny and they win!

Would you recommend this book to brighten to make them laugh?

Yes I would as it’s one of the most funniest books I’ve ever read in my life. I give it as 10 out of 10 for the story!

What else did you like about the book?

I really liked the way the illustrator actually made the pictures and you can see that she didn’t just load them off the web. She drew them! I also really liked the bits about the llama!

I like the part when Tom said: I never knew old people could be so bendy.’ Also I like that Tom’s grandmother is called Grandma Pete. I like it when Granny Mavis gave Tom cuddly-toy pants.

Pick your favourite page from the book and tell us why you like it.

Page 3 because Tom’s grandparents can speak three different languages and then Tom says: ‘How do you say “You’re an idiot” in any language that Delia won’t understand?’ Then he says that he wants to know as that will be fun to try out! Then Tom’s mum says: ‘I’m not sure Delia understands English sometimes’.

I love Tom’s grandparents Granny Pat and Grandad Joe and how they travelled the world.

My Mum's Growing Down

What was your laugh out loud moment while reading?

I enjoyed all the poems in this book. Each one gave a funny twist on when your parents can embarass you and the way they do things. I particularly enjoyed the poems about Mum going to the movies, museum, complaining in the restaurant, parents evening and knowing loads about football.

Who was your favourite character? Why did they make you laugh?

There is only two characters in this book, Mum and son. My favourite character was the Mum as it was he who was doing all the embarrassing things.
